Frequently Asked Questions

What Is A Tax Attorney?

Some attorneys specialize in tax law, and their practice may be concentrated in a specific area of tax law. They may prepare your tax return or may hire someone else to prepare your return, but their specialty is generally to represent taxpayers before the IRS or in tax court. Attorneys do not need to obtain a PTIN unless they prepare for compensation all or substantially all of a federal tax return or claim for refund.
